(00:00-21:30): The episode starts with a discussion on Matheson’s online book on the Blue Jays’ top 50 prospects, which you can purchase on amazon here. They go through the process of putting it together and the challenges that come with it.

They discuss what made prospect Nate Pearson such an intriguing prospect following an impressive end of the season. What does he project as in the future a reliever or a starter?

(21:30-36:30) The Blue Jays have been fortunate to get by with a cheap bullpen and avoid spending too much of their payroll in free agency.

While the team has made moves it was never going to be an earth-shaking offseason, which is why trading Josh Donaldson did not make sense. Matheson discusses how the goal was to raise the floor of the team and bring versatility especially if injuries come up.

(36:30-end) They go over the Jose Bautista reports and what led really led to his struggles and what the future has in store for him. They also discuss the issue that could come up in the issue that could come up in the next CBA players might try to get to free agency sooner.

They also discuss the interesting dilemma in the outfield despite all the additions made, Matheson still thinks the value is the players who will be knocking on the door at Spring Training and might start the season in the minors.
