Toronto Raptors: Longest single-season championship reign – 486 days

This is more just wishful thinking.

As fun as it is to say that the Toronto Raptors hold the record for the longest single season championship reign, I think we can all hope that this record never gets broken.

More from Tip of the Tower

While Toronto got to revel in the Raptors for a solid eight months, everything changed when the NBA shut down due to the pandemic.

When play resumed, the league was in the bubble, everyone was wearing masks, and the gatherings that happened to celebrate the Raptors a year ago seemed like utter impossibilities.

If this record ever falls, it will be because something akin to this global disaster has happened. Hopefully, this one stays on the books for the rest of time.
