Toronto Raptors: DeMar DeRozan gives Kyle Lowry some great praise
In a recent interview, DeMar DeRozan made sure to let people know where Kyle Lowry sits among the Toronto Raptors all-time best players.
While he owns the Toronto Raptors all-time mark in games and points, DeMar DeRozan doesn’t see himself at the top of the list when it comes to ranking the best players in franchise history.
The 30-year-old participated in an Instagram Live with former NBA player Nate Robinson to help pass over the time with the season suspended. They discussed a wide range of topics and eventually and got around to talking about the Raptors.

Robinson knows that DeRozan is good friends with Kyle Lowry and wanted to get his thoughts on where his former teammate stood among the franchise-best players? For DeRozan, there doesn’t appear to be any debate on his stance.
"“Not being biased, that being my man, you gotta put him as the best ever,” DeRozan said."
Robinson certainly agreed with DeRozan considering he was pivotal in the Raptors championship run. So why this should be seen as a big deal?
DeRozan would go on to reiterate his claim that Lowry is the best Raptors of all-time and would even go on to say “and that’s coming from me.” So it’s safe to say that DeRozan didn’t want to leave any doubt as to whether he should be put in the mix.
Now, people will try to make an argument for Kawhi Leonard but considering he left after one season he doesn’t fit into the conversation. DeRozan would honestly be the only sensible option outside of Lowry but we’re not just talking about the regular season.
When you look at any other NBA franchise, the name’s that top the list usually includes players who have won multiple titles and were leaders throughout their tenure. Look at players like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Tim Duncan, and Dirk Nowitzki, they had long tenures and achieved a lot of success.
So it’s safe to say, Lowry certainly fits that description but there are young players who could step into that role if they stick around long enough and potentially win another title in the process.
