Toronto Maple Leafs: 3 trades Kyle Dubas should look to make
Adam Larsson
Apparently the Leafs were close to acquiring Adam Larsson last season but the trade fell through and while the Edmonton Oilers defenceman continues to carry the label for the Taylor Hall trade, that shouldn’t dissuade the Leafs.
While Dumba will likely be at the top of the trade list, Larsson’s style of play should be something the Leafs would want to add especially his ability to log heavy minutes on the penalty kill. It’s no secret the Leafs need to figure out a way to move on from Ceci but they also need to find a suitable replacement.

The Oilers are in competing for a playoff spot so it will be tough to for them to justify trading a defenceman like Larsson right now. At the same time, injuries have kept the 27-year-old out of the lineup and he has seen a reduction in playing time at 19:04 per night.
Larsson is signed for one more season at $4,166,666 so Toronto would have to figure that into any deal as well.
This is where the Leafs could look at potentially moving either Johnsson or Kerfoot in a potential deal. The Oilers will probably try to get Kapanen and it’s tough to blame them although the Leafs were apparently ready to send Connor Brown to the Oilers last season.
Of course, a lot of people got excited to see Dumba’s name but that’s a more complicated deal which is why Larsson could be the player to target.
