Buffalo Bills: Time for Josh Allen to make a statement against the Patriots
With their first matchup against the powerhouse New England Patriots, the Buffalo Bills need Josh Allen to take his game to another level.
If the Buffalo Bills want to show they are what their record says they are, it takes no genius to say that the New England Patriots will provide them with their biggest test of the season.
Tom Brady loves to play at New Era Field and while everyone is waiting for age to catch up to him, he continues to defy critics with the Patriots firing on all cylinders. While many don’t think the Bills can challenge their AFC East rivals for the division crown, a win can provide some belief.

Even if the opportunity isn’t this season, Buffalo is making strides to put themselves in the best position to seize the chance for when the opportunity comes for them to make a run in the AFC East. This is why Sunday is a big game for Josh Allen to prove he is the quarterback the team has been waiting for.
"“I think we’ve definitely moved from where the meter was when we first got here to where we are now in a lot of ways,” said head coach Sean McDermott to reporters. “I’m confident that mostly driven by the people, our culture has changed and I’m confident that we’ve moved that meter.”"
In fairness to Buffalo, the Patriots haven’t exactly gone up against a team that has challenged them definitively this season. The Bills, of course, will try to take away Brady’s weapons like Josh Gordon and try to rely on theirs in the passing game like John Brown, Cole Beasley, Zay Jones, and newly cemented tight end Dawson Knox.
New England will try their best to limit the Bills running game which has been their biggest strength this season considering the options they have at their disposal. This is similar to what the Patriots do with their various options in the backfield but have a better offensive line who can open up the holes.
This is why the Bills need their pass rush to make life miserable for Brady. If he starts to get frustrated and doesn’t have the run game to go to, Buffalo can give Allen more chances to be on the field.
If the Patriots control possession, it will be hard for the young QB to establish a rhythm and of course, he needs to play as much of a mistake-free game as he can.
