Since being called up to the Toronto Blue Jays, Bo Bichette hasn’t wasted any time showing why he is an important part of the team’s future.

On Sunday, Bo Bichette extended his hitting streak to an impressive seven games to start his MLB career, making him 13-for-32 during that time.

Only two Toronto Blue Jays players have ever had better hitting streaks to start their career. One of them is Jesse Barfield. The other? None other than Ryan Goins, as they both had eight-game streaks following their big league debuts.

It was easy for fans to get caught up in the Vladdy hype earlier this season, but Bichette is proving why fans should be just as; if not more excited that he’s finally up and contributing at the big league level. And isn’t that all fans want at this point? Something to be excited about?

Bichette profiles as a solid top of the order bat with good speed and decent pop. He’s mainly hit leadoff since his promotion to the majors, and I think leading off or hitting second is right where he belongs in the batting order. He doesn’t walk a ton, but he doesn’t necessarily need to when he makes hard contact as often as he does.

We haven’t seen him attempt to steal a base yet but he definitely doesn’t lack the speed or the willingness. During his time in AAA this season he swiped 15 bags in 20 attempts. He also stole 32 bases at AA last season and was only caught 11 times.

At just 21 years of age, Bo is already creating a buzz in Toronto and making quite the name for himself. Don’t be surprised if you see him competing with Vlad Jr. as the most popular Blue Jay for years to come.
