First home run

Imagine hitting your first home run and thinking it wasn’t. Well, when Pillar hit a deep shot and it hit off the wall. Well it appeared as if Pillar hit above the yellow line which would signal a home run.

First, looking at Pillar, it is different to see him without the full beard and for him it, unfortunately, he had to wait for a review before confirming that he hit the first home run of his career.

Walk off home run

While he wasn’t known for his walk-off moments, there were a couple that Pillar did have while he was with the Blue Jays and during some tough seasons in 2017 and 2018.

This one here had a great pop from the crowd and Buck Martinez and deservedly so as it was a great swing to make this a no-doubt shot. You also have to love the Blue Jays pink threads they were wearing.

Although the home run might not have come during an important time in Blue Jays history, you have to give Pillar credit for still providing some great moments. Admittedly, it is tough to try and find positives when the team is struggling but Pillar continued to be a consummate professional.

Some people might still have an issue with the homophobic slur he used in 2017 but he has gone above an beyond to right a wrong. While he might not be with the Blue Jays anymore, these moments will still live on as some of the best plays in franchise history.
