After falling hard on his back against the Brooklyn Nets, the NBA community showed their support for Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry as he recovers from his injury.
Toronto Raptors fans everywhere collectively held their breath and prayed as Kyle Lowry lay on the hardwood floor in obvious pain, after colliding with Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Harris at the Barclays Centre on Monday night.
The final minutes of overtime between the Raptors and Nets were full of physical basketball, as both teams went back and forth with the lead.
The result was once again Lowry putting his body on the line in order to try and secure a win for the Toronto Raptors.
As Lowry was helped off the court by Jonas Valanciunas and Serge Ibaka the immediate reaction by fans was how serious Lowry’s injury was, given how hard he fell to the floor and his history of back issues.
One Raptors fan asked Dr. David Chao, also known as “Pro Football Doc” for his opinion on Lowry’s injury as an orthopedic surgeon and a sports medical analyst.

Then on Tuesday morning, ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Lowry was diagnosed with a bone bruise on his tail bone and is considered day-to-day. Lowry was then unsurprisingly ruled out for the Raptors’ Tuesday night game against the Miami Heat.
Since his fall, Lowry has received countless support on Twitter from Raptors fans and basketball fans wishing for a speedy recovery.
Lowry also received support from members of the NBA community, including a message from LeBron James.
With the amount of support coming in, Lowry made sure to thank everyone on Twitter.
With Lowry’s injury appearing not to be too serious, Raptors’ head coach Dwane Casey tried to make light of the situation with a punny joke prior to their game against the Heat.
