Time to close the book on Tyrod Taylor and move on
Despite breaking the playoff drought for the Buffalo Bills, it is time to close the book on Tyord Taylor after a sub par performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The party was short-lived for Buffalo Bills fans, as their 10-3 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars put a damper on what was a dream ending to the regular season.
While a win over the Jaguars was unlikely given how talented their defence is, there were chances for the Bills to win that game but the offence could not get the job done, which has been the story the past couple of seasons. Even though he did enough to get the Buffalo Bills into the playoffs, Tyrod Taylor needed to have a better game and once again the team allowed the opposition to beat them on the ground.
While the Bills’ run defence limited Leonard Fournette to 51 yards on 21 carries, but giving up 88 on 10 carries to Blake Bortles was the team’s downfall even though the Jaguars’ quarterback was ineffective in the passing game. On the other side, Taylor only threw for 134 yards and an interception, while adding 27 yards on nine carries.
Now this does not comes as a big surprise to see Taylor struggle to produce offensively as it has been the story the entire season. They averaged 18.88 points per game which had them ranked 22nd and put up 302.63 yards per fame, which was 29th in the league.

If the Bills want to move forward after making the playoffs this season; it starts at the quarterback position. Taylor was given another chance by the Bills under a new voice in Sean McDermott and unfortunately the result was the same in the end.
Buffalo will not be the only team looking to make changes at the quarterback spot, but they might be in the best position to find a replacement.
Now the chances of finding a quarterback in free agency will be tough given how limited the market will be. Scratch any chance Drew Brees and Jimmy Garoppolo will be available or even interested in going to Buffalo. Then there are players like Case Keenum, and Kirk Cousins who will be high priced options.
Then there are trade options like Alex Smith who could be moved, as the Kansas City Chiefs look to get over a crushing loss. A.J. McCarron was almost moved to the Cleveland Browns, but in true Cleveland fashion they failed to get the paperwork in by the deadline.

Now if the Minnesota Vikings decided to keep Keenum then Teddy Bridgewater would likely be available for the taking and maybe for a reduced price tag. There is also a chance Nathan Peterman is the guy or they draft someone with one of their first round picks.
