TORONTO, CANADA – JULY 2: Roy Halladay /

First start in Toronto with the Phillies

Halladay was supposed to make his return to Toronto in the 2010 season but the G20 Summit pushed the series to Philadelphia because of safety concerns.

In that first start against his former team, Halladay pitched seven innings allowing no runs on six hits, a walk while striking out four as the Phillies shutout the Blue Jays 9-0 . Countering for the Blue Jays was Jesse Litsch who gave up six runs on seven hits and four walks.

More from Tip of the Tower

Halladay would get his chance to pitch at the Rogers Centre the day after Canada Day in 2011 and once again he would pick up the win against his former team.

It was a trademark start for Halladay as he pitched a complete game, allowing three runs on eight hits, one walk while striking out eight.

He did allow a home run to Jose Bautista and RBI hits to John MacDonald and Eric Thames but the Blue Jays fell short losing 5-3.

With a lot of anticipation for the return of Doc, fans could not wait to show their appreciation for one of the best players to put on a Blue Jays jersey. While they gave the former Blue Jays ace a standing ovation, there was still a baseball game to be played and they made sure to show some displeasure with calls made by the umpire on some strike calls.
