Art Briles resurfaces in Canada of all places as he heads to the CFL
By Chris Mckee
According to reports, Art Briles has been named assistant head coach for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL.
It was reported earlier today that Art Briles, the former head coach at Baylor University will be making the move up north to be a part of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats coaching staff.
Briles was fired last year amid a scandal that his program had developed a culture that tolerated sexual assault by several of his players.
Briles was the head coach of Baylor from 2008 to 2015 where he helped transform the Bears program from the laughing stock of the Big 12 Conference into a national powerhouse.

QB Robert Griffin III won a Heisman trophy at Baylor under Briles’ tutelage and went on to become the No. 2 pick overall in the 2012 NFL draft.
During Briles time at Baylor, it is alleged that he fostered a culture that encouraged the cover ups of several sexual assaults on female students and athletes at Baylor University in Waco, TX.
According to the Dallas News Sportsday:
"Early numbers reported five football players accused of eight or more instances of sexual assault since 2009. In October, Baylor regents told The Wall Street Journal they instead believed 19 football players had assaulted 17 women since 2011. Those numbers continue to climb in subsequent allegations. A February court filing bumped that number to allege 31 football players committed at least 52 rapes between 2011 and 2014. And these cases didn’t garner sympathy from school officials, the filing says. Administrator and coach responses ranged from saying it’d be “great” if police kept quiet to questioning the women."
The Hamilton Ti-Cats have struggled out of the gates and are winless in the first eight games of the season. Kent Austin stepped down from his head coach position just a few days after leading the team to an 0-8 start and named June Jones the interim head coach.
