The Toronto Blue Jays current success has been a surprise considering all the injuries that make up key players and hitters for the Jays. But luckily, Josh Donaldson will be returning soon.

As the Toronto Blue Jays are 7-3 in their last 10 games, they have done well in turning things around. As their fortunes continue rising more luck is on their side as Josh Donaldson is expected to return to the team this weekend. Donaldson has inevitably been the teams best hitter over the last two season.

Although the Jays have been starting to maintain consistency they could really use their third basemen as their has been a lack of stability with Darwin Barney on third base. He just doesn’t have the strongest defense in comparison to Donaldson. I’ve noticed that Barney hasn’t been able to come up with some plays at third base. Donaldson is just so athletic and courageous as a third baseman so his return is more than wanted. But Barney has definitely been helping out the Jays in regards to offense.

Better days to be seen

It is not certain that Donaldson will return this weekend but manager John Gibbons is hopeful that it will be this weekend. The last thing the Jays want to do is rush his projected timetable. The Jays are maintaining a hot streak without him, so getting him back when he is 100 percent is the goal. Sportsnet has claimed that “he’s been out since April 14, when he hit a double and re-aggravated the calf injury he first suffered during spring training and tweaked again on the season’s first weekend.”

Everyone is aware of the hole the Jays have dug themselves into as a team. But when you fail as a team that is when you triumph as a team. Despite the Jays’ current success it doesn’t secure continuous success all the way.  But the return of Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki are great signs of reinforcements and success.

Donaldson’s return is imminent

Before Donaldson went on the DL, he was hitting .310 with two home runs and four RBI over nine games. Donaldson is obviously hoping to continue where he left off. Returning from the DL is never easy but Donaldson is the type of player that has a strong work ethic and mentality.

As he enters his final stages of recovery, he will look to help out his team as much as he can. Donaldson is without a doubt eager to return. He rides with confidence so continuing to ride with success shouldn’t be a problem. His return will bring a huge presence back into the club house.

In addition, Donaldson is the type of player that rubs off victory onto other players. As seen other players have already stepped it up in his absence. Evidently, I’m sure Donaldson will be proud to be a part of a team that shows resiliency.
