Toronto FC faced Orlando City at BMO field on Wednesday night and showcased their eagerness to win with a 2-1 victory. It was positive as there was at least one Toronto team to achieve success, while both the Toronto Raptors and Toronto Blue Jays lost.

It has been hard to cheer for Toronto sports teams recently, as there has been a lack of consistency with such matters like offense. The Toronto Blue Jays have been struggling to maintain a lengthy win streak, and the Toronto Raptors are having trouble figuring out LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. But luckily, Toronto FC was able to bring some light and optimism to Toronto sports on Wednesday.

Teamwork

Two stars shined in the game and they were Sebastian Giovinco and goalkeeper Alex Bono. They were without a doubt the sparks of the game. Bono inevitably was a major highlight of the game as he made key saves when needed.

In addition, as he is not TFC’s main goalie, he chose a perfect moment to showcase his skills with Clint Irwin injured. Waking The Red discusses Bono’s tenacity in the game.

"“Bono’s stop was a perfect encapsulation of the athleticism and intensity that have so many so high on his potential as a young player; it was the kind of game-changing moment that only the minority can produce.”"

At the end of it all, Toronto FC would not have walked away with a point, if Bono didn’t make those heroic and fantastic saves. The other major component to TFC’s win last night was from the little guy with the big kick, or as many like to call him the “Atomic Ant.”

Giovinco showed that he is starting to heat up by scoring two goals in the game. Inevitably, we don’t expect anything less from Giovinco. He presents star quality, agility and the passion to win. He is the kind of player that makes the players around him better.

Relief

As the Toronto FC game may not have been the highlight of Toronto sports on Wednesday night, as playoff basketball was on, at least they can add a win to their list.

It’s never easy to bash your favourite Toronto teams, but its also hard to watch when you know they are better then how they are currently playing. You can’t expect perfection, or for teams to win every game, but you hope that their can be more stability in success.
