Chris Coghlan surprised everyone on Tuesday night with an amazing leap to score a run and help out the Toronto Blue Jays, with the highlight of the game.

Many people believe baseball to be boring to watch, since it is so many innings — it takes a special kind of person to enjoy the game. If you watched the game between the Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night, it was quite bizarre and exciting thanks to Coghlan.

The Blue Jays might have the worst record in baseball as of right now, but rest assured they have found ways to keep games interesting. Although they might have more losses than wins, many of the games have been one-run losses.

Despite losing some key personnel to injuries, this gives other players an opportunity to rise and show what they got. In addition, it’s an opportunity to shake up the line up.

The Jays without a doubt have had to battle in the games they have won, but that goes to show hard work pays off. Nothing comes easy, but let’s face it, sometimes the players make it look so easy.

Coghlan Makes The Slide of The Century

More from Toronto Blue Jays

I’m sure many Blue Jays fans can recall the Jose Bautista bat flip in 2015. It was all anyone could talk about for a while.

But now that’s history, as the game between the Jays and Cardinals represented something I don’t think anyone has seen before. As Kevin Pillar hits the ball high and deep into right, the Cardinal’s Stephen Piscotty failed to catch the ball and Coghlan ran all the way from first base.

While it appeared Coghlan was going to be called out, he amazingly jumps over Yadier Molina to score. It was just so unexpected and acrobatic.

According to The Washington Post, it was not only fans amazed by the leap:

"“… It was like I saw a unicorn or something,” Blue Jays’ starter Marco Estrada said (via ESPN). “It’s just something that never happens. You might not ever see that again.”"

It can be described as so many things, one of them being jaw dropping. It goes to show exciting things can happen in baseball and clearly that Coghlan is a freak of nature.

What’s also amazing is he did not get injured. It was obviously something Coghlan did not plan on doing, it was a spur of the moment thing that came to mind and all that matters is that it was successful.

Marcus Stroman Deserves A Hand

Coghlan may have been the highlight of the game, but lets give some credit to Stroman. He pinch hit in the 11th inning and hit a double, which came to be the winning run of the game as the Cardinals landed their fourth error in the game.

It allowed Stroman to score off Steve Pearce‘s hit. It was Stroman’s first hit as a pitcher and boy was it a beauty.

You could tell how excited Stroman was about it, as when he went back into the dugout he still had his helmet on, along with a big smile on his face. It was definitely a huge moment for Stroman.
