In a week that was full of competitive matchups and impressive highlights, it was Stefan Smith who shone the brightest with a 32 point performance against a tough Lincoln Prep squad that took Bill Crothers right to the wire.

Bill Crothers keeps pace at the top of the standings with 99-96 win over Lincoln Prep

The game began with an impressive alley-oop layup to Jayden Coke from Stefan Smith to take the first lead of the game for Bill Crothers.

That was just a preview to the night Smith would have.

However, the first quarter would in fact belong to Lincoln Prep’s Kevin Kangu, who responded by scoring the first 11 points for Lincoln Prep, giving the huskies the 11-7 lead over the Colts halfway through the first.

Bill Crothers would keep it close however, as Lincoln Prep struggled to have an answer for a full court press that gave the Colts the lead, 28-25, going into the second quarter.

In the second, it was all about clashing styles, as Lincoln Prep settled into their half court offence, while Bill Crothers remained the athletic run and gun team they have been known so well to do.

Emmanuel Miller had a number of huge blocks and transition layups for the Colts that gave them the 48-41 lead going into the half, while Sam Jenkins kept the Huskies pace with some great feeds inside and knocking down a few tough jumpers.

The back and forth battle continued in the third, with neither team able to hold considerable leads.

Bill Crothers continued their run and gun style, but it was Lincoln Prep’s second chance points off of misses, spearheaded by Tafari Simms and Sam Jenkins, that allowed them to keep pace, and the score tied at 70 going into the fourth.

The fourth itself became a battle of attrition, with both teams making costly mistakes that led to easy buckets for each team.

Near the end however, it would be Bill Crothers that would step up and make some big shots down the stretch from both Smith and Miller that gave the Colts the win by a final of 99-96

Smith ended with an impressive 32 points for Bill Crothers.
