Buffalo Bills: Week 6 Injury Report Update
By Paul Taylor
We bring you all the latest injury news for the Buffalo Bills, as they prepare for their Week 6 clash with the San Francisco 49ers at New Era Field.
These are good times for the Buffalo Bills, who are on a three-game winning streak. In addition, they currently find themselves just one game off the pace in the AFC, albeit after just five weeks.
Taking this into account, as well as who their opponent is, the Bills enter Sunday as considerable favorites. The matchup with the San Francisco 49ers will be just the 10th time they have been favored by more than a touchdown, since they last made the playoffs.
In case you’re wondering, the Bills are 5-4 against the spread in these games. Of more importance though, they have only lost once outright, although it was the 2004 finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers, when a victory would have secured a playoff spot.

As the Bills continue to win, more interest is drawn towards their injury reports, with Week 6 being no exception. On offense most of the intrigue relates to the line, particularly Cordy Glenn.
The Bills’ starting left tackle returned to action two weeks ago, after missing a couple of games with an ankle injury. However, the team understandably continues to take a cautious approach, by limiting Glenn’s participation in practice.
Talking of Bills’ tackles, Glenn’s replacement during his absence, Cyrus Kouandjio, is also dealing with an ankle injury. Encouragingly, he participated in limited practice on Friday, for the first time since he injured himself in Week 3.
However, head coach Rex Ryan admitted Kouandjio will only be active against the 49ers if an emergency situation arises. Closing out the line injuries is Patrick Lewis, who looks set to yet again be on the inactives list, due to his ongoing knee issue.
The only other offensive player on the injury report is ever-present Charles Clay. As usual, the tight end sat out practice on Wednesday to rest his knee, but will suit up on Sunday.
On defense, the majority of the attention centers around Marcell Dareus. A hamstring injury suffered in training stopped him from returning to action last week after his suspension, and he is the only player on the injury report listed as doubtful.
Fellow defensive lineman Corbin Bryant has been limited in practice all week, due to an ankle issue. He’s listed as questionable but it will take a lot to stop him from playing, after playing every game so far this season.
Bills’ fans will be hoping linebacker Zach Brown can contribute on Sunday, especially as he currently leads the NFL in tackles. He was given Wednesday off and the team has limited his participation in practice since, to put him in the best possible position to play against the 49ers.
Anytime Aaron Williams is on the injury report there is understandable angst, after everything he’s been through. He’s been in the wars again this season, after leaving the Rams game with a shoulder injury.
However, it is actually an ankle issue which has limited Williams in practice this week, and he is questionable for Sunday. Meanwhile, cornerback Corey White missed the last game due to shoulder issue, and like his secondary teammate, has had limited participation in practice during this week.
Closing out the Bills’ Week 6 injury report is Colton Schmidt, who is dealing with a right quad injury. In truth, he’s been decidedly average so far this season, but as the starting punter, the Bills will still need him on Sunday.
