4) Duke Williams

In theory, Williams is safe, at least if you take anything away from the Bills first (unofficial) depth chart of the preseason. However, this is by no means the case.

Simply put, the 25-year old is fighting desperately for a place on the 53-man roster. Doubts surrounding his ability started to surface during the 2015 campaign, when he failed to take advantage of his opportunity as a starter, regularly making mental errors on the field.

Things haven’t been much better so far this year during training camp, with the 2013 fourth round draft pick being outplayed by Jonathan Meeks. In addition, he could also lose out to Colt Anderson, who has value as a member of the Bills’ special teams.

Ironically, the one hope for Williams is the uncertain status surrounding his namesake at strong safety, who currently has a concussion to contend with, on top of trying to coming back from a serious neck injury. We now wait to see if the Monroe, Louisiana native can take advantage of the situation and show more than he did last season.
