Toronto Maple Leafs Release 2016-17 Schedule
Get your calendars out Leafs’ fans, the Toronto Maple Leafs 2016-2017 schedule is officially out.
The Toronto Maple Leafs schedule for the 2016-2017 season has been released. The Leafs will open their season with a road game in Ottawa on October 12th and will play their Home Opener on October 16th.

"The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced their schedule for the franchise’s 100th season, with this year’s campaign commencing in Ottawa on Wednesday, October 12 before the team holds its home opener at Air Canada Centre against Boston on Saturday, October 15.The Maple Leafs will host the first-ever NHL Centennial Classic™, an outdoor regular-season game at BMO Field in Toronto, against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday, January 1.Click here to view the Maple Leafs 2016-17 schedule in its entirety.The Maple Leafs also announced today that the hockey club will return to Halifax, Nova Scotia to begin its 2016 training camp and host a preseason game at Scotiabank Centre. The Maple Leafs will play eight preseason games in total, with their other three home games taking place in St. Catharines, Toronto and Hamilton.Further details, including additional plans for the 100th season, single-game ticket availability, broadcast information, and the training camp schedule will be released at a later date."

The Centennial Classic against the Detroit Red Wings taking place at BMO Field will be played a 3 pm on January 1st.

Prior to spending their Christmas out west in Colorado and Arizona, the Maple Leafs will enjoy their longest home stand of the season, which is a five game stint that runs from December 11th to 19th.
The Leafs have 18 back-to-back sets this season. In other words, a backup goalie will be important.
Get used to seeing the Buffalo Sabres and Florida Panthers. The Maple Leafs play Buffalo and Florida five times each this upcoming season, which is more than any other team.
