Until Jan. 28, the unquestioned winners of the offseason were the Toronto Blue Jays.

Then, the St. Louis Cardinals entered the chat. Although the full details of the trade have not been announced, St. Louis is expected to send a bevy of prospects and cash to the Colorado Rockies for all-world third baseman Nolan Arenado.

But, you may be asking, how does this affect the Blue Jays? Well, just as the Arenado trade has ushered in what promises to be a golden era of Cardinals baseball, it also kicks off an overdue rebuild in Denver.
