The 2020 NFL Schedule was released on Thursday and it is hard to not be excited about the Buffalo Bills getting four prime time games this season.

There are a couple of things fans look at when the NFL schedule is released and is how many prime-time games their team gets. If you are a Buffalo Bills fan you should be excited for what 2020 has to bring.

We have seen over the years that certain teams get the pleasure of being showcased more than others and Bills fans would agree the NFL has overlooked them the past few years. It looks like that won’t be the case this time around as Buffalo will be featured in four prime-time games.

Before we take a look at the four prime-time games, let’s review what the Bills’ schedule will look like for the 2020 season.

More from Buffalo Bills

You can’t help but notice that the Bills changed their Twitter name to bring up the fact the team will be showcased in a more prominent spot than they have been in a long time. With four games including two on Monday night and one on Sunday night, Buffalo will certainly get a similar focus to what the New England Patriots have had for years.

Just to give you an idea of how rare it is for the Buffalo Bills to have four prime-time games in a season, Matt Bove of WKBW pointed out that it has not happened since 1996. Not only was that the year Josh Allen was born, but it was the last time Jim Kelly was the starting quarterback.

What is interesting about the four prime-time games is that three of them are played in four weeks. The first one comes against the reigning Super Bowl champions, as the Bills host the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6 on Thursday Night Football.

Then you see a run of games against premier opponents as the Bills will travel to sunny California in Week 13 to take on the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football. After that they return home where they will host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football, which seems to be a more prominent time slot over the past few years.

In Week 16, Buffalo’s final prime-time game might be the most important one as they will take on the New England Patriots in Foxborough. Depending on how the season goes this game might be penciled in as a crucial one when you look at the AFC East playoff picture, much like last season where the Bills lost 24-17 at Gillette Stadium.

While that game will be important when it comes to proving they are ready to take over the division, their matchup against the Chiefs at home will definitely be a hot ticket for fans. Hopefully, by that point, the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t take away the ability to have fans at New Era Field.

We will have a more detailed breakdown of the schedule and games to look forward to later, but the early impressions of the schedule should make Bills Mafia itching for the start of the season.
