We look at the latest injury news and game odds for the Buffalo Bills as they aim to win their second straight game, in Houston against the Texans.

Not much was expected from the Buffalo Bills heading into this season, due to the strength — or lack thereof — when it comes to the roster. And a lot of people remained unimpressed after the manner of their 13-12 victory last weekend against the Tennessee Titans.

Regardless, a win is a win and last time we checked, the Bills were only one game out of first place in the AFC East. While we agree they are unlikely to qualify for the postseason, you cannot take away their current position and even if it is considered by default, they are in contention.

Regardless of how genuine the Bills’ contender status is, they continue their challenge on Sunday with a trip to Houston to face the Texans. Unsurprisingly, the visitors are underdogs for the contest.

As per Odds Shark, the Bills are 10-point underdogs at the time of writing. And the average predicted scoreline looks even more ominous, with the Texans favored to win 32.4-10.2.

More from Buffalo Bills

Of course, Bills fans could quite easily refer to the recent upset win in Minnesota, as evidence that anything can happen. On that occasion, Sean McDermott‘s team were the third-biggest underdogs in NFL history, but still came away with an impressive 27-6 win.

The all-time head-to-head series between the teams only dates back to 2002, although the two sides have already played eight times. Entering Sunday’s contest at NRG Stadium, the series is tied 4-4.

In terms of playing in Houston specifically, the series is tied at 2-2. However, the Texans have won the two most recent games there, in 2012 and 2014.

For what it’s worth though, the Bill won the last meeting between the two sides, in Buffalo. The 30-21 victory came three seasons ago, during the 2015 campaign.

As always, injuries could be a factor in the outcome of Sunday’s game. And the Bills find themselves in surprisingly excellent shape, considering we are now in Week 6.

This becomes even more apparent, when you consider the inclusion of linebacker Lorenzo Alexander and defensive tackle Kyle Williams on this week’s report. As has been the case all season so far, the defensive stalwarts have been given rest days and both will be available on Sunday.

Tight end Charles Clay was also given time off this week to rest; a smart move with all the knee issues he has encountered throughout his career. Similarly, he is good to go on Sunday.

Safety duo Rafael Bush and Micah Hyde both missed their first game of the season last weekend. However, even though they have been limited in practice this week with shoulder and groin issues respectively, they have been given the go ahead to face the Texans.

The final two players on this week’s injury report are cornerback Tre’Davious White and offensive lineman John Miller. Each has dealt with ankle injuries, but both were full participants in practice on Friday and will suit up in Houston.

Overall, it’s going to be a tough challenge for the Bills on Sunday. We predict the game will be a lot closer than the average predicted scoreline suggests, but ultimately, we do expect the visitors to drop to 2-4 on the season.
