Here’s a recap of this edition of the Podcast:

David gives a recap of his trip to Boston talking about what he learned about the sports culture there and why it’s a city people should visit.

Speaking about other cities it’s been an interesting couple of days for the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators. David and Austin give their thoughts on the Max Pacioretty trade as it has some interesting tidbits to think about going forward.

Nothing was more bizarre though than the video the Senators made featuring Eugene Melnyk and Mark Borowiecki. While Austin has not watched it, David makes the case to give it a look even if it might be the worst video he’s ever watched.

More from Toronto Maple Leafs

Now on to Leafs talk as the players make their way to the Mastercard Centre before they go to Niagara Falls for their first ice session. Not on the initial roster is Nylander since he does not have a contract.

Should Leafs fans be worried that his situation isn’t resolved yet? David wonders how it has gotten to this point. With reports suggesting Nylander wanting $8 million, David and Austin wonder whether he’s worth that much.

They look at comparable deals in David Pastrnak and Nikolaj Ehlers not just on the money they signed and production but the situation those players were in when they signed with their teams.

Another contract situation worth keeping an eye on is Jake Gardiner since there haven’t been many reports about his future with the team. Austin explains why there should be no rush to get a deal done and why it other players could replace him if he decides to explore free agency.

Austin gives his list of players that he is looking forward to watching during the camp and when preseason opens. Stay tuned for our next episode with a look on Kawhi Leonard and updates from training camp.

Next. Should Rielly and Hainsey continue to play together?. dark
