4) On the decline

There is no denying what Bryant accomplished during his time in Dallas. His résumé makes for impressive reading.

More from Buffalo Bills

The Galveston County, Texas native has the franchise record for receiving touchdowns and is third all-time in receptions. He is fifth in receiving yards and arguably would have moved up to third, if he remained with the Cowboys in 2018.

Regardless, if the Buffalo Bills were to actually sign Bryant, they would be essentially paying for his past. He is a declining product on the field.

It has been three seasons since the wideout last went over 1,000 receiving yards and he isn’t getting any younger. Along these lines, his 12.1 yards per reception in 2017 was the lowest average of his eight-year career.

As a final thought, there is a feeling Bryant has not adjusted his playing style to compensate for his advancing age. While he can still theoretically be effective, it is just too much of a risk for the Bills to take.
