Buffalo Sabres: Who should they select at the top of the draft?
By Nick McAdam
Brady Tkachuk
- Position: LW/C
- Boston University (NCAA)
- 18-years-old
Do the Buffalo Sabres really want another annoying Tkachuk brother on their team? The answer is yes, very much so.

Brady Tkachuk is along the same lines as his brother, Matthew Tkachuk, but maybe a bit less frustrating to deal with, although that’s something that can easily be changed.
If anybody watched the World Junior Championships in Buffalo, you would know how much skill Tkachuk has. The American scored six goals and added six assists in the tournament, and has posted double those numbers with Boston this season.
Elite Prospects notes that ISS Hockey gave Tkachuk some praise with his all-around presence, especially in the hitting department:
"Big body & isn’t afraid to use it. Plays all 200 feet of the rink & loves those dirty areas"
Not as much of a scorer as Svechnikov, but Tkachuk is offering a lot in virtually every department. Something tells me this is the guy both Jason Botterill and Housley would prefer in the draft.
