With just over four minutes left in overtime, the Bills had the ball at the Colts’ 42-yard line on fourth down with two yards to go.
It looked as if McDermott was playing for the tie, which would have been just as bad as a loss for the Bills’ playoff chances.
Fortunately for McDermott, the Buffalo Bills got the ball back on their own 35 yard-line and managed to score the winning touchdown thanks to McCoy’s strong running.
When asked about his decision to punt the ball on Monday, McDermott stood by his decision and said he would do it again.
