3. Tyrod Taylor gets benched in the fourth quarter
In a move that symbolized how bad things were going for the Bills, head coach Sean McDermott made the call to bench quarterback Tyrod Taylor late in the fourth quarter.
Taylor had the worst start of his career with the Bills, throwing for only 56 passing yards while completing nine of 18 passes with one interception. He also ran for 27 yards on three rushing attempts.

Taylor was replaced by rookie backup quarterback Nathan Peterman who made his regular season debut for the Bills.
In limited minutes Peterman made the most of his opportunity, completing seven of 10 passes for 79 yards and threw his first career touchdown pass to tight end Nick O’Leary.
Taylor’s benching by McDermott seems to just be a precaution to keep his starting quarterback healthy and not the start of a quarterback controversy in Buffalo.
McDermott confirmed on Monday that Taylor would remain the starting quarterback for the Bills.
