2) Power-play struggles
I know, you’re likely sick of me typing out the struggling power-play. However, it has to be taken into account.

The Sabres’ power-play has been disappointing when trying to find rhythm this season. Countless zone entries only mean the puck gets cycled around an endless amount of times, before getting cleared away.
It doesn’t seem to matter who is on the ice either. You can stick the likes of Kane, Ryan O’Reilly, Jack Eichel and Jason Pominville on the ice and nothing will click.
The man advantage went 0/4 for the Buffalo Sabres against the Caps, which is the norm for them at the moment. Buffalo can only get away with so much for a certain amount of time.
Housley and the rest of the coaching staff need to shape things up dramatically when they have a man advantage. Especially against the bigger clubs like the Capitals.
