Toronto Blue Jays: Return from DL does Steve Pearce well
As the Toronto Blue Jays pretty well have all their injured players back, it has shown that being on the disabled list has done some of them justice, including Steve Pearce.
As key players such as Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki have returned from the DL over the past couple weeks, the Toronto Blue Jays can continue to try and get to .500 with their record. But one player that has done exceptionally well upon his return from the DL, is Steve Pearce.
Pearce showing positive signs
In a 11-4 loss to the Chicago White Sox, Pearce hit his fifth home run of the season. Although the Jays got beaten up pretty bad, his home run was able to give them some life in the game.
In the Jays’ 7-3 win over the Chicago White Sox on June 18, Pearce had a very promising game. In four at bats, he scored two runs, got three hits and 1 RBI.
And in the first game against the Texas Rangers, the Jays battled for a tight win, in a 7-6 victory. Although the game showcased the continuing struggles with Marco Estrada, Pearce yet again stepped up at the plate.
According to the Toronto Sun: “Steve Pearce broke the game open temporarily in the fourth when he smacked a double to left to score three runs.”
Whenever the Blue Jays play against the Texas Rangers it is always exciting to watch, due to the tension and rivalry between these two teams. So for the Jays to rally in the ninth inning to win the game was big.
Pearce overlooked as a player
Pearce is inevitably one of those players people probably unintentionally forget about. He has definitely shown that he can help the Jays win games.
Homering in his return from the DL was a pleasant surprise. If he can continue to play like this and get key hits for the Jays, he will definitely become a memorable player.
This evidently shows that the Jays have a lot of depth, with players they can turn to when they find themselves in a jam. It’s not over until it’s over.
The Jays have shown they can rally back late in games and that is important. Every win counts.

If Pearce can continue to get really hot as a player, he will no longer be overlooked. Let’s not forget he is riding a five-game hitting streak as well – a great sign for a player coming off the DL.
