Toronto Raptors Two-Man Game: The Serge Ibaka Fight
By Demar Grant
When Drake’s contract with the Raptors as the Global Ambassador ends, who do you want to take up the mantle?
Demar: If they can’t re-sign Drake for a few more years (and actually get him to come to games) the Raptors should venture elsewhere and I can’t think of a better candidate than Nav Bahtia. Sure Drake brings utter star power to the Raptors franchise through his celebrity, but Isaiah Thomas dubbed Nav the Raptors’ super fan and it just stuck.
He has been to every Raptors home game and most away games since inception; he’s never been late and never left early. Nav buys and donates thousands of tickets for underprivileged children through charity and his 10 season tickets that he purchases every year.
Before and after games, you can catch Nav Bhatia taking pictures with kids and proselytizing Raptors basketball. This guys loves the team and everyone around it – sounds like the perfect global ambassador to me.
Chris: We love to talk about momentum in sports all the time. You know, team X got hot at the right time and rode that momentum to a title! Well, who says Drake can’t do the same thing?

With More Life out, Drake can promote his album, finish his Boy Meets World Tour and make it back in time for the end of season, attend the Raptors final three games (home to Miami, at New York, at Cleveland), and then show up to each home playoff game.
I’m sure he can use the momentum and hype he’s sure to generate from this brief stint to a new contract with the Raptors!
In the event none of that happens, I think the Raptors will scrap the Global Ambassador role, since nobody has a global impact like Drake does. Maybe they’ll promote the Raptors’ super fan, Nav Bhatia, more?
Next: When Will Kyle Lowry Return?
He was at the NBA All-Star Game this year talking with DeMarcus Cousins and Paul George, so it’s clear he’s willing to do anything to try to lure players to Toronto like our man Drizz tried with Kevin Durant. Perhaps they can give him a role in the organization, at least in the Greater Toronto Area.
