Second Star of the Game: John Wall

33 Points (13-19 FG), 11 Assists, 5 Rebounds, 3 Steals, 1 Block, 9 Turnovers

Wall is this entire team. As soon as he came out of the game the Raptors went on a 9-0 run.

Wall had five assists in the first, then took over scoring throughout the rest of the game. His scoring was hyper efficient (13 of 19), mostly because the Raptors had absolutely no answer for his  pick n’ roll.

The guards couldn’t get over the screen and when they did Wall, was already scorching to the rim for easy finishes. He was the catalyst of the entire offense as he also recorded 11 assists, most of which were out of transition or pick and roll.

Wall draws so much attention on his drives that his gravity sucks the entire defense into the paint, leaving his teammates open on the perimeter. His entire offense originates in his speed – he’s one of the fastest players in the league and the Raptors didn’t have anyone who could guard him until Norman Powell was sicced on him.

Wall’s speed was also on display defensively, as he hawked passing lanes generating a lot of tips on Raptors passes. He was able to grab two steals (one of which was brutal rip on Lowry) and a block, which isn’t atypical for Wall when his knees are good.

However, he did generate nine turnovers personally, so we’re going to have to deduct him for that. Meaning…
