With Manny Lawson’s agent refuting claims the Buffalo Bills linebacker will be suspended one game for a domestic violence issue, who’s telling the truth?

When it rains, it pours. At least that’s how Buffalo Bills‘ fans must feel, after Tuesday’s allegations against Manny Lawson.

According to Tim Graham of The Buffalo News, the 32-year old could be suspended one game for a domestic violence incident. Graham cited two sources familiar with the situation, but there appears to be more to this story, after Lawson’s agent responded to the allegations.

Jonathan Feinsod took to Twitter and wrote: “There is absolutely no truth that Manny Lawson was involved in DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.”

However, things got more interesting, when The Buffalo News‘ Jay Skurski contacted Feinsod to ask why his client could be facing a one-game suspension. The response was a curt: “That’s all I’m going to say.”

Understandably, this leads to the question of what Lawson has been up to? All his agent has done is refute the domestic violence allegation, rather than saying he will not be suspended full stop.

Taking into account what information is currently available, indications seem to point towards the 2006 first round draft pick being suspended for one game, but not for a domestic violence incident. Further adding credence to what Feinsod did say, first-time domestic violence violations usually come with a six-game suspension, not one.

All in all, it just adds another episode to what has been a disastrous couple of months for the Bills. Even if Rex Ryan was right to claim his team won the offseason, they’re now done more than enough to offset this.

About the only positive regarding Lawson’s situation, is that he will only miss one game, again assuming the original report is true. However, even this is soured by the fact the Bills will face a fine, for having three different players suspended: Lawson, Karlos Williams and Marcell Dareus.

Overall, the Bills will now be without yet another key member of their defense, when the season starts next month in Baltimore. Both the team and their fans better hope the saying is true, that it is always darkest before the dawn, because things aren’t looking too good right now.
