Whether or not he plays with Phil Kessel, Van Riemsdyk is going to be an intriguing option for Fantasy owners. He set a career high last season with 30 goals even though he had a hard time producing during the Leafs end of the year slump (sorry for bringing it up). If he plays on the second line it may open up more opportunities for Van Riemsdyk. Ray Ferraro mentioned the idea of splitting up Kessel and Van Riemsdyk would have JVR as a focal point of the second line, he would lead the attack instead of following a player like Kessel.  He had 9 power play goals because of his ability to get a tip shot or nifty play in front of the net. He is ranked 74th on the NHL.com Fantasy list. Look for Van Riemsdyk to try an replicate his 30 goal season and possibly get more.
