- A last-minute change to the starting XI saw defender Kadin Chung replace Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty. As per John Molinaro of TFC Republic, sources have told him TFC has signed Chung, who has been with the club as a trialist since they arrived in Austin, Texas.
- Chung is the second player to join TFC from Pacific FC this offseason, after fellow defender Lukas MacNaughton. In respect of MacNaugton, he started the second 45 minutes of Wednesday’s game versus Houston.
- There is a lot of excitement surrounding Ifunanyachi Achara, who was picked in the first round of the 2020 MLS draft and showed promise last season. He scored TFC’s only goal against Houston, courtesy of a well-executed volley in the 74th minute:

Quote of the day
Head coach and sporting director Bob Bradley took responsibility for the overall performance versus Houston. As per James Grossi of Torontofc.ca, Bradley said:
"“It’s a difficult day, conditions not easy. We’ve also trained hard, so it was evident today that in terms of energy and being able to really get after Houston, we didn’t have that. “I take responsibility there, because we wanted to continue to train hard at the beginning of the week and then give everybody 45 minutes. I don’t think it was our best football day.”"
