1) The winning goal in the 2017 MLS Cup

There really could be no other highlight to come in at number one. After so many years of mostly struggles since joining MLS in 2007, TFC finally reached the pinnacle thanks to Altidore.

Following the first half of the 2017 MLS Cup, fans must have been concerned about a similar outcome to the previous year. Despite dominating the possession and chances, Toronto FC just couldn’t get past their former goalkeeper.

However, the moment everyone had been waiting for finally came in the 67th minute, ironically on a counter-attack. Altidore was put through on goal and he calmly slotted home past Frei, to give TFC the 1-0 lead.

The Reds would score a second goal in injury time to secure their inaugural MLS Cup and become the first Canadian side to complete the domestic treble. Into the bargain for Altidore, he capped a fine individual campaign by being named 2017 MLS Cup MVP.
