The Buffalo Bills season got off to a rocky start against the Pittsburgh Steelers but now the team needs to regroup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 2.

Going into the season, it was made clear the Buffalo Bills offense would have to find a way to win big games and while we’re only one week in, it was not a great performance by any means.

Sure they held the advantage in yards and plays run but what really matters is the final score. Sure it is only one game but it’s against an opponent that knows what it takes to win in tough situations.

Fortunately, this is a game the coaching staff and quarterback Josh Allen can learn from. What needs to change, however, won’t be easy especially when you consider there are some familiar concerns from past seasons.

Buffalo Bills need Josh Allen to protect the football after costly fumble

Allen was under siege for a good part of the game as he was sacked three times but it was his fumble caused by T.J. Watt that got a lot of people talking.

His defense gave him every opportunity to get a significant lead considering they kept the Steelers off the scoreboard in the first half. Unfortunately, since Allen couldn’t make the plays when he needed to, the Bills’ defense couldn’t maintain their pace of play.

Miami Dolphins looking to prove doubters wrong against Buffalo Bills

The last thing Buffalo wants is to go down 0-2 and lose their first game against an AFC East opponent.

Miami is coming off a one-point victory over the New England Patriots and can really make a statement in Week 2. The real challenge for the Bills is that the Dolphins won that game against the Patriots without their best effort.

They won the game with a late turnover which you bet will be on their minds considering the Bills have struggled to protect the ball at times. Buffalo should find a way to get more production on offense as the Steelers defense is a tough unit to go up against.

Expect a better effort from Buffalo as long as they get a better game from the offensive line and Allen.
