4. “Canadian Forces Night” – (2011/12)

In honour of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Raptors developed the first camouflage uniform in NBA history ahead of their Canadian Forces Night game against the Chicago Bulls.

The look featured all-over print camouflage with a large Canadian flag located above the nameplate.

Although the fashion police at Yahoo ranked the uniform the worst in the history of the franchise, their logic is fraught with inaccuracy. The main reason given for the low ranking was that the camouflage was digital, when in fact, this element added to the sincerity of the team’s gesture. CADPAT (Canadian Disruptive Pattern) is what the Canadian Armed Forces use to this day to disguise themselves in the line of battle.

Although the camo didn’t help the Raptors sneak past the eventual Eastern Conference-champion Bulls, the look was a genuine gesture to our nation’s military that did more than make a fashion statement.
