There were many talking points from the Toronto Blue Jays Game 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays that will be important to watch for in Game 2.

In the MLB postseason, every decision is magnified and the one mistake can prove to be costly and for the Toronto Blue Jays, they learned the hard way after Game 1.

Trailing their wild card series against the Tampa Bay Rays, it’s clear there is room for improvement and some of the issues will require an immediate turnaround. With the series hinging on a win in Game 2, you can be sure that the attention will be focused on the offensive side of the ball.

Unfortunately, one run won’t be enough to get a win in the playoffs and unfortunately, this is what cost the team. This is what Charlie Montoyo had to say about the team’s struggles against Blake Snell.

"“We did chase a lot,” Montoyo told reporters after the game. “We struck out nine times against Snell. But I do know that when he’s on, that’s what hitters usually do and I could tell he was on. I’m not defending our hitters — yeah, you want them to do better. But Snell was on and I could tell that from the beginning. There was no room for error here.”"

Let’s go over some observations from Game 1 and some adjustments the team will be looking to make.
