Dubas starting to face serious heat

If there is one thing we have learned about Kyle Dubas during his tenure as general manager of the Leafs, he will defend his plan and the players he has put his faith in and there is no problem with that.

The last thing you want to see in this market is your general manager give in to the pressure that has been present in Toronto for as long as many of us can remember. Of course, there were some moments in his press conference where you noticed Dubas starting to show some emotion especially when his “vision and plan” were getting questioned.

Two scenarios that had some a bit perplexed was seeing Dubas come to the aid of Marner and Cody Ceci which shouldn’t surprise anyone since he’s done it at different points this season. As much as the Leafs GM is loyal, there is also a time where being critical of a player can be warranted.

Instead of calling out a singular player for the team’s issues like some have done on Twitter, Dubas has decided to make it a collective issue. With that being said, you know the pressure on Dubas is only going to be more prevalent as long as this team doesn’t live up to its potential.
