Andersen continues to be the backbone

The goaltending story in this series has been Korpisalo but the Leafs have to be impressed with the level of play Frederik Andersen has provided.

You get the sense that Andersen is more composed in the crease and is being rewarded with a .981 save percentage through the first two games. This is what separates the contenders from the pretenders.

If Korpisalo isn’t paying the hero for Columbus, the Leafs would likely be ahead 2-0 in this series and in the same way, Andersen has put the Leafs in the best position to be successful. With the margin of error being as small as it is this season, it has been impressive to see the Leafs netminder look as good as he has.

You have to wonder how the Blue Jackets will approach Game 3 from an offensive standpoint because of how much they struggled offensively. This is something Andersen will have to be careful with especially since it’s been proven that one shot can change the trajectory of a game.
