The Toronto Raptors won 107-103 against the Miami Heat on Monday afternoon in their second seeding game in the NBA bubble.

What were the key takeaways for the Toronto Raptors from this game?  What is the big-picture outlook for the team as they head towards the playoffs?

The defending champions had an impressive first game win against the Lakers on Saturday night.  The second game of the seeding round at Mickey Mouse’s house clarified several things about the Raptors.

The early afternoon start was a treat on a Monday, or as Matt and Leo kept commenting, whatever the heck day it is today. Here are our five takeaways from the Raptors’ 107-103 win over the Miami Heat:

1) Fred VanVleet is going to get PAID

Fred VanVleet famously bet on himself two years ago and signed a two-year deal worth $18 Million.  After this season ends, he will be an unrestricted free agent and is going to get paid – a lot.  The number one priority of the Raptors this off-season has to be re-signing VanVleet.

Monday afternoon, VanVleet put on a show from three-point range and was constantly bothering the Heat with his defense.  He finished the game with a career-high 36 points on 7-12 shooting from downtown.

Not only was his offensive game on point, but “Steady Freddy” also came away with a crucial defensive play in the closing moments to seal a Raptors win.
