Week 6 – vs Kansas City Chiefs

The first of four (yes, you are reading that correctly) primetime games for the Bills this season, week six sees the defending Super Bowl champions roll into Orchard Park on a Thursday night. There hasn’t been a defence yet to solve the mastery of Patrick Mahomes, but could this nationally broadcasted tilt give the Bills an opportunity to stake their claim to the AFC crown?

For starters, White against Tyreek Hill is must-see TV. White has the size advantage, but Hill’s speed is borderline Olympic; their battle should be fascinating all night long.

The possible key for the Bills to stop the Chiefs could be the play of their linebackers. In his young career, Matt Milano might best be known for getting his ankles broken by Lamar Jackson.

However, Milano has quietly blossomed into one of the best ‘backers in the game. His ability to cover Travis Kelce in the flat on passing plays and handle shifty movers like Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of the backfield on running plays and screens could prove to be the difference.

The Chiefs’ defence has been human over the course of the young Mahomes era. If the Josh Allen to Diggs connection is anywhere near established, the Bills have the potential to go over the top.

This game is also predicated on there being fans in the building. Bills Mafia has been waiting for a prime time matchup like this for a long time.

If it’s safe for the fans to return, expect a raucous crowd that could make the difference. If not, a little bit of the lustre of this matchup will be taken away.

Prediction: 28-26 Chiefs
