Theren Churchill, OL, University of Regina

The Argos did address their offensive line with their ninth overall pick and they decided to add some toughness to their front unit.

Considering the way the offence has struggled, it’s no secret that the team was going to try to address that in the draft but Churchill was seen as a player that some thought could be picked in the middle rounds.

They selected Shane Richards with the first overall pick last year and John Hodge of 3Down Nation believes he will likely play as a guard but can rotate to play in the tackle position.

Jack Cassar, LB, Carelton

Cassar was named OUA Outstanding Defensive Player and an All-Canadian in 2019 after he had 44 tackles and four sacks with Carleton University. The Argos will hope to develop the  six-foot-four, 240-pound linebacker as a player that can take over the middle of the defence over the long term.

Where Cassar excels is with his ability to get to the quarterback and can also play a pivotal role on special teams. It will help him to be a part of a strong linebacker group which includes Chris Ackie, Bear Woods, Jeff Knox Jr., Boseko Lokombo, and Nelkas Kwemo.

The Argos got decent value picking up Cassar who some thought would be a first-round pick and should be a capable core member of the defence for years to come.
