With the CFL Draft approaching, the Toronto Argonauts will look to make the most of their opportunity to continue their hard work from the off-season.

There haven’t been many sports-related events to look forward to on the calendar but for football fans, the past two weeks have offered a break from watching past games. After watching NFL teams complete their drafts, the Toronto Argonauts and the CFL get their turn on April 30.

Heading into the draft with the second overall pick, the Argos are picking near the top for the second year in a row. It’s definitely not a place the team wants to see itself in going forward and making sure they make use of the draft capital they have will definitely put them in a good position.

With seven picks including four in the first two rounds, Toronto is in a position where they have some flexibility as to who they can target and not look specifically at a certain position to address. It’s usually common though that the top-ranked player on their board will likely fit a role they can play in right away as well.

Heading into Thursday’s draft, having two U Sports players in Marc-Antoine Dequoy and Carter O’Donnell sign in the NFL as unrestricted free agents take away potential first-round options at important positions.
