Go to the draft

Let’s face it. Buffalo is an acquired taste. Most that have never been rag on it for the weather, size and lack of image, but those who do come often find a place they can call home.

Sometimes, it’s hard to change people’s perceptions of a place, and if you do just roll through for a couple of days like most visiting teams that come to Orchard Park do, I can see how one might take on a certain perception of Buffalo.

But, when you get a fresh draft class who are happy to play anywhere, Buffalo gets that coveted opportunity of making a first impression on young players who have few to no prior opinions. And this year’s class is stocked to the brim with just what the Bills need. For starters, Oklahoma’sand Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy lead the class.

Both balled out in college and are ready to make an immediate impact in the NFL. Jeudy’s running mate, Henry Ruggs III, has also recently declared for the draft. But it doesn’t stop there. Colorado’s Laviska Shenault Jr., Kentucky’s Lynn Bowden Jr., Penn State’s K.J. Hamler and TCU’s Jalen Reagor have all expressed their intent to enter the draft.

Out of this group of prospects, the size and strength of Lamb and Shenault Jr. are most compelling. Guys like Hamler and Reagor represent what the Bills already have in spades; smaller slot guys who are money on crossing routes and slants, but don’t have that red zone, jump-ball ability. Bring in guys like Lamb and Shenault though, and the Bills have that number one target.
