3. Target Field– Minnesota Twins (July 9th-12th)

This one might appeal more to the Jays fans that are living in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, or Alberta. There are Jays fans across the country though and this is definitely a trip worth making. Score extra points for the fact that this is a four-game series, and also runs from Thursday-Sunday.

Target Field is consistently ranked towards the top of the best ballparks in MLB, and it’s easy to see why. A huge improvement over the old Metrodome, it’s currently the third newest stadium in the league after opening in time for the 2010 season.

Take a stroll around to truly appreciate some of the little touches that went into designing this ballpark.

Food to try: Boomstick

Baseball and hot dogs just go hand in hand. So what’s better than a two-foot-long hotdog? You probably shouldn’t try eating this on your own (or you know, go for it if you want).

Perfectly acceptable to be split between two, or maybe even four people; this hot dog is gonna cost you $27 but will be well worth it for the experience and for how much food you’re getting. Just get it, you know you want to.

Local beer to try: Surly Brewing Company’s Furious IPA

Surly Brewing is one of the better-known craft breweries in Minnesota, and this is probably their most popular beer. It’s as hoppy as you’d think most IPA’s are, but this one also features some Scottish malt to help tame it.

Should go great with that two-foot hot dog you’re eating.
