Heading out on the road

Following the derby, TFC will take their show on the road to Foxborough for another six pointer against the New England Revolution. The Revs are currently the team directly ahead of TFC in the table, and will look to open up a larger gap in front of the Reds.

Historically, the Reds have had a tough time at Gillette Stadium, losing five of their last seven matches played there and not recording a win since 2013. Captain Michael Bradley has even come out against the venue, saying that the turf and the football lines that grace it during the New England Patriots season are “ridiculous.”

Whether the lines are on the pitch or not, both teams will be treating this late summer clash as a playoff game.

Meaningless prediction: 2-1 Revolution.

As the calendar flips to September, TFC will stay on the road and pay a visit to MLS’s newest expansion side, FC Cincinnati. Year one in MLS hasn’t gone to plan for the new kids on the block, as they are on pace to shatter the league’s goals conceded record and find themselves squarely in the cellar of the Eastern Conference.

Nippert Stadium is one of the most intimidating atmospheres in MLS, but a team boasting Jozy Altidore and Alejandro Pozuelo should have no problem finding a way in behind the most porous backline in all of MLS.

Meaningless prediction: 2-1 Toronto FC.
