Marcus Stroman should have plenty of suitors when the trade deadline approaches and the Toronto Blue Jays will need to maximize his value in any deal.

Being sellers at the MLB trade deadline isn’t a position Toronto Blue Jays fans want to see their team in but it’s the reality of their situation.

The team has been through painful departures with Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Josh Donaldson but they always had the promising 1-2 punch with Aaron Sanchez and Marcus Stroman.

Unfortunately, Sanchez has struggled to regain his dominant form as he continues to work back from his finger issues while Stroman has had his ups and downs.

This season, Stroman has been without a doubt the Blue Jays best pitcher with injuries which unfortunately means for another likely divorce considering there has been little to no progress towards a contract extension. Also, the Blue Jays can’t risk having their top tradeable asset walk for nothing and there will be plenty of suitors.

Looking past his 5-9 record, the 28-year-old has a 3.18 ERA and has shown that he is capable of pitching in the post-season. The only concern might be the recent injury he suffered that forced him to skip the All-Star Game but if he can make one or two starts before the deadline, that shouldn’t be an issue.

Here’s a look at which teams could be the top contenders for Stroman and what they have to offer.
