5) Ruben Brown

Selected: 14th overall in 1995

Played: 13 seasons, including 9 with the Bills

Career highlights: 9-time Pro Bowler, 4-time All Pro, named to eight consecutive Pro Bowls

Ruben Brown is one of the more polarizing players to put on a Bills uniform. Depending on who you speak to, opinion ranges from him being the best offensive lineman in team history, to being one of the most overrated.

Regardless, Brown enjoyed an excellent career in Buffalo, after being selected in the first round in 1995. He arrived in Western New York with a fine reputation, after being named to three consecutive All-Big East teams while playing at the University of Pittsburgh.

The Englewood, New Jersey native proved to be an inspiration on the field for the Bills. He was named All-Pro four times and selected to eight consecutive Pro Bowls, the second-most in franchise history.

Brown’s influence extended to off the field with the Bills, with him being very active in the local community. He went on to win three Buffalo Bills/NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year awards.

The 45-year old was released in 2003 and finished his career in Chicago, but did more than enough to be named to the Bills 50th Anniversary team. Now all that remains, is to see if he has done enough to one day be elected into the Hall of Fame.
