10) Marcell Dareus

Selected: 3rd overall in 2011

Played: 8 seasons, 5 &1/2 with the Bills

Career highlights: 2-time Pro Bowler, 1-time first team All Pro

It is understandable if people question the inclusion of Marcell Dareus on this list, especially with how his time with the Bills ended. However, it is a measure of the impact he has already had in his NFL career, that we can justify including him on our list.

Named defensive MVP of the 2010 BCS National Championship Game, Dareus was drafted third overall in 2011. He was the highest selected defensive lineman in Crimson Tide history, and ironically the highest selected Alabama player since Cornelius Bennett, who enjoyed nine successful seasons in Buffalo.

The 27-year old started from day one and received his first Pro Bowl invite following the 2013 season. However, it was in 2014 when he really gained attention around the NFL, as the Bills led the league in sacks and finished fourth for yards and points allowed.

Dareus registered a career-high 10 sacks, was voted to his second Pro Bowl and named First-team All-Pro, as he helped the team make the likes of Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers look like mere mortals. This prompted the Bills to sign him to a six-year extension, which included the most guaranteed money for a non-quarterback

Admittedly, the Birmingham, Alabama native has taken a step back in recent seasons, due to a combination of the Rex Ryan regime, injuries, suspension and other factors. However, when it is all said and done, he still has a chance to move up this list.
