The Toronto Blue Jays finally pulled the trigger trading Pillar to the San Francisco Giants while closing the book on another era and setting up for the future.

Whether you loved him or hate him, Kevin Pillar left a mark during his time with the Toronto Blue Jays. It is never easy to see a player who became a fan favourite for some get traded but the writing had been on the wall for a while now.

The Blue Jays have been looking to move on from the old core assembled by Alen Anthopoulos (save for a couple of younger pieces) and with Anthony Alford pushing to make the big league roster, the only way he was going to make it was if Pillar gets moved.

Seeing the emotion Pillar had when he first spoke about the trade should remind people of the personal side of moving a player especially one who has been with the team since 2013. There were the playoff runs from 2015 and 2016 and the special Mother’s Day promotion sporting Pillar “Superman” capes.

Now we will look back on the top plays from Pillar’s time with the Blue Jays, memories fans should remember and cherish.
